Also on the table is our BRAILLE MENU CARDS plan for the visually impaired in Pune. We hope to see more

 and more of our special friends breaking barriers and stepping out to be part of mainstream society. This is one humble drop in the ocean of things that need to be done.

 

We have Mrs. Meera Badve, a veteran worker with the visually challenged in Pune who's said she's more than happy to print these menu cards. Just use our contact form to drop us a line if you can convince the manager/owner of a restaurant of the benefits. A couple of restaurants are already in touch with her.  The cards cost next to nothing and one per restaurant will work wonders.

 
SKIT in Indian Sign Language and spoken English/Hindi
 
To be taken to 'regular' schools with hearing students. A 15 minute skit and a 15 minute interactive session in Indian Sign Language and spoken English/Hindi. This is primarily to sensitise the new generation and introduce the deaf to them as friends and equals.
 
Need an excellent script writer who can pack a punch into 15 minutes. We already have the actors ready and waiting for 'action'!

 

 Our Future Dreams.

 

Parks for the visually challenged where smells and sounds abound. A zoo of stone animals,foliage, flowers, ...that can all be touched..maybe even a real petting zoo and a gurgling waterfall! There are many untended parks in Pune and quite a few that are maintained by corporates and PMC and other organisations. We can find many such spaces for the VI around the world and Pune seems ready for one NOW!
